Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) & Community Engagement
DEI
At Village Roadshow, our vision is to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that celebrates people of all backgrounds and where everyone feels welcome for who they are.
Our DEI strategy and action plan prioritises:
• Gender equality
• Cultural diversity
• LGBTQI+ inclusion
• Accessibility
• First Nations engagement
Our DEI strategy sets out practical, accessible steps that align with our current priorities while providing space for continuous improvement and adaptation.
Community Engagement In an effort to support the community we offer heavily discounted tickets to community groups including; Police people, Soldiers Association and War Widows pass holders and those with Extreme Disability Adjustment / Totally and Permanently Incapacitated passes.
Our Theme Parks division is proud of our history supporting the local community from our relationships with local schools to sponsoring major community events like Diwali and the Gold Coast Mayor’s Christmas Carols.
First Nations Engagement Through Village Roadshow Theme Parks, we recently launched our first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to demonstrate our commitment to recognising First Nations cultures and traditions and creating greater inclusion pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
This RAP framework outlines best practices for reconciliation processes and is supported by an internal and external RAP working group, which includes First Nations employees and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members from the Yugambeh Language Region.
Moving forward, our Theme Parks are committed to finalising the deliverables of the Reflect RAP and continuing our reconciliation efforts with the guidance of the Yugambeh Region Aboriginal Corporation Alliance.
Modern Slavery We are committed to reducing the risk of modern slavery and human rights violations throughout our supply chain and educating our stakeholders of the impact of these issues.
Modern Slavery includes issues such as child labour, forced labour, and dangerous and unethical working conditions for vulnerable people.
We focus on addressing the areas of greatest modern slavery risks in our businesses which includes: Offshore Professional Services; Retail and Merchandise Suppliers; Cleaning Suppliers; Labour Hire Businesses and Workforce.
