Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP), a wholly-owned division of Village Roadshow, has its headquarters on the Gold Coast, Australia's holiday playground, where it operates Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Wet'n'Wild, Paradise Country, Australian Outback Spectacular and Sea World Resort & Water Park, a 402 room hotel adjacent to Sea World. Collectively these Queensland based Village Roadshow Theme Parks enjoy around 5 million guests per annum. In addition, in December 2013 VRL opened the world's largest waterpark, Wet'n'Wild Sydney.
Village Roadshow has agreed to establish a funds management business with CITIC Trust Co. Ltd for the purpose of investing in theme parks, entertainment facilities and related real estate development throughout Asia, with a particular focus on China. Outside this agreement, VRTP is currently working on two projects in China: Wet'n'Wild Haikou, on Hainan Island; and a major Hollywood Studio IP branded theme park in Chengdu, China.
VRTP also has majority ownership of and operates Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas, previously owning and operating US water parks in Hawaii and Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
Warner Bros. Movie World is Australia's leading entertainment based tourist attraction offering a taste of Hollywood on the Gold Coast bringing movie magic alive with world class entertainment and appearances by the stars of screen and stage and DC comic heroes.
Located at Oxenford and employing approximately 900 staff, Warner Bros. Movie World has attracted millions of visitors since it opened in 1991. The theme park, with its extensive range of rides, roller-coasters, parades and attractions, has consolidated its position as a world-wide leader in theme parks and tourism winning numerous state, national and international awards including its membership in the coveted Australian Tourism Hall of Fame.
Sea World is Australia's premier marine park, covering 25 hectares (55 acres) of land, is located only a few minutes north of Surfers Paradise on Queensland's Gold Coast.
Currently employing over 700 staff and originally opened in 1971, Sea World is a Gold Coast tourism pioneer, and Australia's first theme park to be inducted into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame in 1992. Visitors to the park have an opportunity to participate in a range of Animal Adventure programs and interact with dolphins, seals and sharks while enjoying behind the scenes tours of Polar Bear Shores and Dolphin Beach.
Wet'n'Wild is located alongside Village Roadshow's Australian Outback Spectacular and Warner Bros. Movie World off the M1 on the Northern Gold Coast.
The water park has been one of the group's most successful theme parks with growing attendance of approximately 1 million every year. Wet'n'Wild employs over 150 people, with employee numbers swelling to over 350 in peak periods. Wet'n'Wild has won numerous awards including Best Major Attraction in the 2001 Brisbane Tourism Awards and an award for outstanding contribution to tourism over 20 years from Gold Coast Tourism.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks' show extravaganza - Australian Outback Spectacular - opened in April 2006 as a one of a kind experience. The event is an evening dinner show filled with outback music, drama and action capturing the grandeur of the Australian Outback.
Australian Outback Spectacular, presented by R.M.Williams, is a permanent 1,000 seat attraction located on the Pacific Motorway between Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet'n'Wild, just 20 minutes from the heart of Surfers Paradise.
Paradise Country - Aussie Farm Tour offers an authentic Aussie farm experience for people of all ages reflecting the Australian bush culture. Located in the serene peaceful hinterland area behind Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet'n'Wild, on the Gold Coast, Paradise Country is open every day attracting local and overseas visitors.
Sea World Resort & Water Park enjoys the reputation of being Australia's number one theme park holiday destination. Sea World Resort is a low-rise 4½ star facility set amongst beautiful tropical gardens and consisting of 402 rooms in 3 different accommodation wings with its own water park.
Sea World Resort & Water Park is also Australia's only theme park resort and conference facility. In July 2015 the park opened the state-of-the-art Conference Centre capable of accommodating up to 1,000 delegates to complement the Resort.
Village Roadshow Studios have attracted projects with a combined budget of around 2.5 billion dollars since 1988 with approximately $1.3 billion spent locally. The eight sound stages have an overall floor area of 10,844m2 (116,727 sq ft) confirming Village Roadshow Studios as one of the largest studio lots in the Southern Hemisphere.
Situated adjacent to the Warner Bros. Movie World Theme Park, the Studios offer truly world class film production facilities comprising the stages, three water tanks, including the largest in Australia, ten production offices, editing suites, wardrobe, makeup, construction, paint and carpentry shops.
This new water theme park opened to the public in December 2013. Wet'n'Wild Sydney is the world's best water park with many world firsts including the first combination Aqua loop and mat racer, the world's tallest Double SkyCoaster and Australia's largest wave pool.
Located centrally at Prospect in Western Sydney, the water park caters for all ages and utilises some of the latest technology to ensure seamless processes for guests entering the park and connecting with the many facilities available.
This park opened in May 2013 and is Nevada's largest water park featuring over 25 innovative slides and attractions catering for both families and thrill seekers. The park is majority owned and operated by VRTP.
VRTP also previously owned and operated US water parks in Hawaii and Phoenix, Arizona.
