Sea World Foundation

Village Roadshow Theme Parks operates the not-for-profit Sea World Foundation which is dedicated to conducting research, rescue and conservation efforts to protect the marine environment for future generations.

Through these efforts, the Sea World Foundation aims to raise a greater knowledge, appreciation and awareness for marine conservation.

The Sea World Foundation also supports the Sea World Research & Rescue Foundation working with an independent scientific advisory board to undertake research projects on marine vertebrates and the Save a Mate Program out of Paradise County with a focus on native wildlife care and research.

The Sea World Rescue Team are on call 24 hours every day, 365 days a year should a marine animal need rescuing. Since Sea World’s opening the Rescue Team have attended many hundreds of strandings and entanglements of dolphins, whales, birds and sea snakes, pioneering new rescue techniques and equipment.

Injured animals are brought to Sea World and given veterinary care with the ultimate aim of returning these animals back to the wild. Every time Sea World is involved in a rescue, an enormous contribution is made to public awareness and scientific knowledge.
